June Week Four: Grace

Sunday:

The girls and I woke up and made some crepes for Bryton for Father’s Day. I added Lyra’s hand prints to a shirt that we’ve made Bryton that has Lucy’s, mine, and now Lyra’s hand prints. After breakfast we all got ready for church and headed that way. I played the piano with the primary kids for Father’s day. Once church was over we headed to our friend Anna’s house for a BBQ, we ate some good food and had some good laughs. Later we headed home to spend some time with Nana.

She leaves tomorrow so we spent the rest of the night with her. We still had our family dinner and enjoyed ourselves. Lyra fell asleep while my Dad rocked her which was a sweet moment.

I was so grateful to have such wonderful father figures in mine and my girls life. Bryton shows me so much grace and love. I am so happy he is mine and we can raise a beautiful family together.

Monday:

We had baby Will, we snuggled and loved him until time to go to the library. We had story time, and got some new books to read this week. Once we left I went through the Starbucks drive through. All 3 of the kids took a nap which was really nice. I had 2 work meetings while they napped.

Lyra was supposed to have her 1 year appointment but the Dr. had a family emergency and could not be available for a while. We rescheduled it for next Wednesday with a different pediatrician. I was going to leave Will with his mom at the library during the Dr. appt, even though it was canceled we decided to go ahead and bring him to her.

I went home and did some laundry. We had some left overs from last nights dinner. Later Bryton’s sister and her kids came to say goodbye to Nana. We spent some time all together, letting the cousins play for a bit. I love being able to watch our kids grow up near family.

At 7:30 we finally got the girls to go to bed and we waited for 8 pm to roll on through. Nana’s flight leaves at 12 pm and the airport is 2 hours away. Nana brought our nephew with her to South Carolina as well. Bryton drove them up to the airport.

Tuesday:

Baby Will was here again, we had a really good day. Bryton took Lucy to our cabin to spend the day together.
Will, Lyra and I spent the day picking up the house and doing our weekly grocery shopping. I love these simple days where I really do feel like a homemaker. I spend the day loving on babies, cooking, cleaning, and adding to our home.

It is so needed to remember to give yourself grace with days like this. While today was so wonderful, I got to feel close to my role as homemaker. Not everyday do I feel like that, you need grace on the days where you feel like you are running low and are having a hard time with you role as a homemaker.

Wednesday:

This morning I went to get tea with my friend. It was a lot of fun. I love being able to spend some time with her. Once home I worked a bit and called my sister. The girls and I played outside for a bit and then took a nap.

My boss came by and we talked about our cases. I am so happy I have the opportunity to help provide for our family and do it all from home. The Lord has blessed me so much.

Later when the girls woke up some friends came over and we had a playdate. Lucy was so happy to play outside with her friends, I love how social she is. We had so much fun. Today was such a good day.

Thursday:

Bryton had to go back to work today, and it is always one of my least favorite day of the week. I love his schedule and he has at minimum 3 days off each week.

Lucy, Lyra, and I made pancakes this morning and we had a okay time, the girls threw several fits and seemed to have woken up on the wrong side of the bed.

Lucy and I had a hard time, she had several fits and spit on me multiple times. She ended up in timeout and I lost my patience more than once. I always feel bad for losing my patience with her as she is just a toddler. Will was here today and him and Lyra just had a good time playing on the floor.

I emailed Bryton at work that when he got home I would like to take Lucy for ice cream after dinner. I had a feeling that she was acting out due to needing some one on one time. He agreed and then decided it would be a good idea for him to spend time with Lyra.

I did get some work done while the girls and Will played. I found that I will reach my goal of 10,000 steps a day if a do a load of laundry. I take several trips to put the clothes away due to the fact that 9 times out of 10 I have a child in my arms so I only have one arm to hold clothes in.

Once Bryton got home we had dinner which was taco soup and then Lucy and I went to Coldstone and got some ice cream. We had a good time and lots of smiles and laughs. While I am not proud or happy that Lucy and I had a hard time and I lost my patience with her, I am so happy it gave us the opportunity to bond and spend some good time together.

Friday:

The girls and I made dutch babies while we waited for Will and his mom. Lucy and I had a much better day and she was a wonderful listener and we had no issues. We played outside a lot and read several books.

I also finished my book that I started on Monday, I am trying to read a book a week. My goal is in a year to read 52 books, and next year I want to read 104! I love to read and I love that my kiddos love to read as well. Lucy asked me to read my book out loud to her and she sat through 30 pages of my chapter book! Her attention span astounds me.

A friend who I donate my extra breastmilk to came over and brought lunch, I appreciated it so much! She is so sweet, the Lord has blessed me with some wonderful friends.

Lucy, Lyra and I had a dance party. I had so much fun, I love these kind of memories with the girls. I want to try to dance with them everyday, Lucy loves to dance and it seems to get some great energy of her. She is such an inspiration to me.

Saturday:

I got up before the girls and did a small workout, I want to start to get up before the kids and get either a workout in or some extra work. I sometimes do some online filing for another attorney, I got some of that done. Then the girls woke up. We made some pancakes and enjoyed some breakfast time with them.

Then the girls took a 4 four mile walk with my friend Shelby, we talked about everything and it was so good to catch up. After the walk we got starbucks and headed home. We played in the sprinkler and then Lucy played in the sprinkler while I rocked and nursed Lyra. It was such a beautiful moment. Watching Lucy play outside while I nurse and cuddle my baby. I am so happy with the life God gave me.

Later we moved inside and read some books and played on the floor. I love being able to get on the floor and play with my babes. Once Bryton came home we went to get Taco Bell, then it started to downpour. It reminded me of the rain we had in MS. After we ate we got the girls to bed.

Sunday:

I have done a lot of thinking and I want to stop the lens every week. I want to experiment with the blog to find out exactly what I want it to be. This is my little corner of the internet and I want to grant myself grace on figuring out exactly what that will look like. I also want my weekly updates to be Monday-Sunday instead of Sunday-Saturday so this post will have two Sunday’s in it and then it will start fresh next week.

The girls had a hard time this morning so we sat in the foyer instead of the congregation. We had a good time with church though and I got a play date set up for Lucy. We canceled our family dinner because Bryton went camping with one of his buddies.

The first night of any of Bryton’s camping trips the girls and I get McDs. We had a good time eating chicken nuggets and having ice cream. Then we play pretend that we were tigers and that we had to go through the jungle. I love that her imagination is growing and I am so happy to get on my hands and knees and play with her and Lyra. So many laughs.
